The Australian Dream® formula started with a pharmaceutical grade skin cream and added ingredients that eased arthritis pain with no odor, burning or staining. Other topical pain products contained menthol and capsaicin (Capsaicin is the heat-producing chemical in hot peppers.)which produced a strong medicinal odor and sometimes caused a burning sensation on the skin Many of these products were also petroleum based, so they left a greasy residue or stained clothing.

Science
The active ingredient in Australian Dream® is histamine dihydrochloride, which is a vasodilator. This causes the size of the blood vessels to increase which allows greater blood flow to the pain area. Pain relief through increased circulation is not uncommon; the body's natural response to pain and injury is to increase blood flow to the area.
